We were asked to select a global problem and propose an idea to solve this issue. We chose the poverty crisis in Ethiopia that has been going on for centuries. This poverty was partially caused because the Ethiopians are unable to get a high-quality education. Therefore, they are unable to get a well-paying job.
Problem: Since many Ethiopian families living in poverty are unable to get a good education, in what ways might we improve their chances of receiving an education so that poverty rates decrease?
Solution: We will organize a textbook collection program and create a website to collect shipping fees so that schools can ship their discarded textbooks to Ethiopian students. This will increase the chances of Ethiopians getting a good education.
